I had the privilege yesterday(Dec 11, 2010) and attended the Northern Virginia Code Camp, or #NoVACC on twitter. While my focus today was on the MVC – with a session on Blend – the part the of this event that I’ll remember most is the charity that the Northern Virginia Code Camp sponsored – “Teardrops 2 Rainbows”. According to their opening paragraph on their website: “Teardrops to Rainbows (T2R) is a recognized 501(c)(3), organization based in Fairfax, Virginia which provides support, services and financial assistance to area children with cancer and their families. T2R plays an active role in helping families through the many stages of treatment for a life-threatening illness.”

This organization really touched my heart when I heard what they do, when I saw the videos, it permanently pierced it:

They showed a different video then this one, and if I get the video URL I’ll do another post, but this one should be enough to touch your heart.

If you could find it in your heart this season to give a little, or a lot, they are extremely happy to accept donations, but if you want to make your donation go ever further, the Capital Area .NET User Group has found corporate sponsors that are willing to match donations made via the CapArea.NET. Please contact Scott Lock if you would like to have your donation go further.

Although this post is focused on the charity, I believe that a thank you is due to the organizers of the event. You guys did a GREAT job and I hope to see you again in the spring (God Willing).
